Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended around seven percent sittings of the National Assembly and addressed the House thrice during the second parliamentary year 2025-2026.

The National Assembly held a total of 84 plenary sittings during the year, spread over 11 sessions. Prime Minister was present in six of these sittings, according to the official attendance records of the National Assembly available on its website.

The prime minister attended one sitting during the 16th session, three sittings during the 17th session, and two sittings during the 21st session. He did not attend any sitting during the 14th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th sessions. Additionally, he was also present during the third Joint Sitting of both Houses of the Parliament held on March 10, 2025 for the address of the President.

Following are the dates when the Prime Minister attended the National Assembly proceedings:

  • May 7, 2025: PM addressed the House on the situation arising out of Indian strikes in Pakistan.
  • June 10, 2025: The sitting witnessed presentation of federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026. PM did not speak during the proceeding.
  • June 24, 2025: The sitting saw a discussion on demands for grants included in the federal budget 2025-2026. PM did not participate in the discussion.
  • June 26, 2025: The House passed the Finance Bill, 2025 during the sitting. PM did not speak during the proceedings.
  • November 12, 2025: The House passed the Constitution (Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2025 during sitting. The Prime Minister also spoke on a Point of Order congratulating the members on the passage of the amendment.
  • November 13, 2025: The House transacted regular business during the sitting with the Prime Minister speaking on a Point of Order regarding constitutional amendment proposal by Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP) on local governments.
