The National Assembly completed its constitutionally mandated 130 working days, with the 7th sitting of its 24th session held on February 12, 2026. Upon completion of the sitting, the session was prorogued sine die. Currently, no further session is expected before the conclusion of the Assembly’s second parliamentary year on February 28, 2026.

Although the Assembly met the requirement of 130 working days as provided under Article 54(2) of the Constitution, it held 87 actual sittings during the year including three joint sittings with the Senate. The remaining 44 working days consisted of breaks between sittings. Constitutionally, “working days’’ include any day on which there is a joint sitting and a break period of up to two days between two consecutive sittings.

The House convened a total of 11 sessions and three single-day joint sittings during the year.

During the 24th session, the House passed nine government bills. No private member’s bill was passed, according to official records available on the National Assembly’s website. Moreover, two government bills and four private members’ bills were introduced.
