During the 20th session of the National Assembly, which spanned six sittings from September 29 to October 10, 2025, 55 members (17 percent) attended all sittings, while 37 members (11 percent) were absent for the entire session. Following are key highlights of the report:

  • The first sitting had the highest number of MNAs (224 or 69 percent of current membership) present during the session.
  • The third sitting had the lowest number of MNAs in attendance (155 or 47 percent).
  • As many as 272 (83 percent) MNAs skipped at least one sitting during the session.
  • As many as 90 (33 percent of 272) MNAs submitted applications for leave of absence during the session.
  • As many as 182 (67 percent of 272) MNAs skipped the House proceedings without any formal leave application in advance.
  • Among the cabinet members, one federal minister and one state minister attended all the sittings.
  • The Prime Minister did not attend any sittings during the session.
  • The Leader of the Opposition has not yet been officially declared in the National Assembly.
