During the 23rd session of the National Assembly, which comprised seven sittings held between January 12 and January 22, 2026, 56 members out of 332 (17 percent) attended all sittings, while 47 members (14 percent) were absent for the entire session. Below are key highlights of the Attendance Report.
- The sixth sitting had the highest number of Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) – 222 or 67 percent of current membership – present during the session.
- The third sitting had the lowest number of MNAs in attendance (135 or 41 percent).
- As many as 276 out of the 332 MNAs skipped at least one sitting during the session.
- Among the cabinet members from the National Assembly, only one minister attended all sittings, while seven did not attend any sitting during the session.
- The Prime Minister did not attend any sitting during the session.
- The Leader of the Opposition attended all four sittings after his appointment on January 16, 2026.
